About
Welcome to Oliver's Honest Money — plain, source-checked writing about money and how people actually get richer.
Why this blog exists
Most money content is trying to sell you something — a product, a course, a dream. This blog isn't. It exists for one reason: to explain money honestly, with sources, and with the disagreements left in. If a claim is contested, I'll tell you. If a number has a source, I'll show it. If I'm not sure, I'll say so.
Who writes it
I write under the pen name Oliver Kim. I'm not a celebrity guru or a licensed advisor — I'm an ordinary person who got tired of hype and half-truths in personal finance and decided to write the honest version instead. The pen name keeps the focus where it belongs: on the ideas and the evidence, not on me.
What I promise you
- Every claim sourced. Numbers come with where they came from.
- Nothing to sell. No affiliate pitches disguised as advice, no "one weird trick."
- Honesty over cleverness. When experts disagree, I show the disagreement instead of pretending there's one clean answer.
- Plain language. Finance is confusing enough. The writing shouldn't add to it.
What this blog is not
This is general financial education, not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. I don't know your situation, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
A note on how it's made
Posts are researched, drafted, and fact-checked before publishing. When I get something wrong, I fix it in the open and log the correction — you can see those on the Corrections page. Getting it right matters more than looking right.
Thanks for reading. If honest, no-hype money writing is what you were looking for, you're in the right place.
